Field Application Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities:
Based in Montréal, but will involve travel globally.

  • In collaboration with sales and support team, provide field integration service and support.
  • Responsible for onsite deployment of Embrionix’s IP product at the customer site.
  • Training end users when required.
  • Work with sales team on plan and preparation of proposal.
  • Prepare all documents required for project start-up meetings.


Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer science or related field.
  • Experience in the Broadcast industry solution such as Multiviewer, SDI router.
  • Experience with TCP/IP networking, VLAN, IGMP routing.
  • Knowledge of switch-based IP routing, CCNA preferred.
  • Good understanding of python scripting language in a Linux OS.


Must have:

  • Self-motivated
  • Ability and drive to learn new hardware and software.
  • Ability to travel globally up to 25%

Sales application engineer

The candidate must assume the preparation of submission and plans for customers regarding our products manufactured by Embrionix, working with vendors to establish prices for the products and services offered, meet the needs of customers.

Tasks and responsibilities

  •  Work with the sales team to support the preparation of plans, proposals.
  •  Review analyse customer requirements and specifications and recommend a selection of products appropriate for the customer's needs.
  •  During the preparation of the submission, act as a liaison between the clients and other Embrionix departments regarding technical and logistical requests from the customer.
  •  Provide technical assistance required by customers and sales representatives to maximize sales, profitability, market penetration and effective customer relationships.
  •  Maintain the required skill level in application engineering
  •  Represent the company to clients and other business partners.
  •  Prepare all documents required for project start-up meetings once the order is received.

Validation, new product introduction and debug technician

We are seeking for a professional that has multiple skills and wishes to join a dynamic multi-disciplinary team. The candidate will have to work in both, IT and broadcast domains.

The professional will have to validate the new products (or existing one that have been modified) to ensure their quality and our ability to produce it with success. He will also have to use and maintain the engineering documentation system used to produce and repair the products. He’ll be part of a team composed of other professionals with similar and complementary skills, technicians and engineers. He will also have to collaborate with R&D and production teams.

Tasks and responsibilities

  •  Validate ECO content (hardware and firmware tests and reports)
  •  Write work instructions for the production floor and/or the CMs
  •  Perform thermal and « four corners” qualifications and reports
  •  Architect, develop and help maintain a debug knowledge base for the production floor
  •  Assist production floor for pre-production runs and apply changes to work instructions, if needed
  •  (Sometimes) Assist technical support team to reproduce a bug raised by a customer
  •  Manage and debug RMAs (customer returns for malfunction or upgrades)


Skills:

  •  Well organised and likes to document
  •  Able to follow a strict process and improve it (especially needed for documentations and tests)
  •  Able to elaborate verification plans and write precise test reports

Firmware Designer

The Firmware Design Engineer is responsible for all aspects of Firmware code development within a video systems environment. The individual will perform activities including requirements definition, firmware design, testing and debug, document creation and at the most senior level, may provide architecture input, mentoring and team leadership. Summary of Responsibilities:

  •  Responsible for the firmware design and development of new "System-in-SFP" products as well as support of existing products
  •  Concept development, writing product specifications, test plans and C/C++ coding
  •  Responsible for design, code, testing
  •  Support the hardware team during environmental testing and entry into production
